Swimming pool finishing requires specialist knowledge of waterproofing systems, epoxy grout and pool-grade mosaic or ceramic tiles that can withstand constant water immersion and chemical exposure. Our team has experience finishing both new pools and refurbishing existing ones.

We handle the full pool finishing sequence: waterproofing the shell, tiling the floor and walls, laying coping stones, and finishing the pool surround area.

  • Waterline tile band installation
  • Coping stone and edge tile fitting
  • Pool surround and deck tiling

Materials We Use

  • Pool-grade mosaic tiles (glass, ceramic, porcelain)
  • Epoxy tile adhesive for submerged surfaces
  • Two-component epoxy grout (Mapei Kerapoxy, Litokol Starlike)
  • Cementitious waterproofing slurry for shell preparation
  • Silicone movement joint sealant at coping level
  • Non-slip porcelain for pool surround areas

Why It Matters

Standard tile adhesives and grouts fail in pools — the constant water pressure, chemical exposure and UV light degrade ordinary materials. Only products specifically rated for pool use will last. We use the correct materials and apply them to manufacturer specifications, including primer coats, correct adhesive coverage and full epoxy grout joints that resist algae and chemical attack.

Frequently Asked Questions — Pool Tiling & Waterproofing

Pool-grade glass mosaic tiles, porcelain or ceramic tiles with water absorption below 0.5% are required for permanent water immersion. We use two-component epoxy grout — not standard cement grout — for all pool applications.

Cement grout absorbs water and pool chemicals, leading to staining, discolouration and joint failure. Epoxy grout is completely waterproof, chemical resistant and does not support algae or mould growth — it is the only correct material for pool tile joints.

Allow a minimum of 7 days after grouting before filling the pool. This ensures the epoxy grout is fully cured and the shell waterproofing has reached its full strength. Filling too early can compromise the grout and void any material warranty.

Yes — we remove damaged or delaminating tiles, assess and repair the waterproofing layer beneath, and re-tile using pool-grade materials. A site visit is required to assess the full scope and condition of the existing shell.

Yes — we tile pool surrounds, step nosings, coping stones and pool decking, using non-slip porcelain rated for external wet areas. Coping tiles are set with a slight overhang and drip edge to channel water away from the pool shell.
